It was pointed out by someone who frequents the front room at Cononley, it is one helluva night when Dick wins overall, Paul C runs the fastest time and Paul S,as ever cyles, the fastest. Three winners in one night. Brilliant.
There were other performances that command attention – Russell Fairhairst’s cycle, transition and run times, Fraser and Tony’s duo atholon. However, having tried to lift both Hoppy annd Petshop Pete’s cycles, whilst waiting at the start, one can only marvel at their stamina and choice of bikes. I suspect Phil Liggget would term them ‘iron horses’ – like their riders, both well shod (is that the correct term?).
I would just like to add – as can be seen by my result against Dick the Draft and Paul C at the hill climb using a mountain bike with half inflated off road tyres. That my time trial bike does the fast times at the duathlon not me.

Wow! I knocked 3 minutes off on my second attempt!
