Have tried for a while to understand the points system but am still puzzled. How does it work? Can someone oblige by explaining it to me. Maths was never my strong point.

    Hi Camille,
we are set off according to our handicap time ie the slower people first and the faster last. According to the times, if everyone is set off at their correct handicap time which usually goes by what time you have done in the past, then we should all finish together. So, if you were racing against someone who was about 3 minutes slower than you in previous races, then they would be set off 3 minutes infront of you and you would both hopefully come in about the same time. I hope that this explains it!

It’s quite straight forward actually Camille…

You get involved with the organisation of the event, perhaps offer to publish the results or calculate an age related chart.

You then simply give yourself a massive handicap making it impossible for anyone to beat your time even though you are not very good.

I think I get it now; Ania having explained it to me again tonight using words of one syllable. Don’t quite see how the points work, but I’m sure it makes perfect sense to someone.
