For anyone who’s not heard I was unsuccessful again at the weekend.

We got lost coming off Skiddaw trying to find the trod over to Hare Crag then Great Calva, and ended up in a mass of bogs and knee-deep heather. I arrived at Threlkeld at the end of leg one 35 – 40minutes down and in spite of Brett, Fraser and Russell doing their best to keep my chin up I dropped at at Dunmail at the end of leg 2 feeling weary and very down, an hour behind schedule

With hindsight, which we all know is a wonderful thing, perhaps five weeks wasn’t enough to re-focus and recover from my previous 16 hour plus outing in the rain. We live and learn (well, hopefully)

It’s too late for another run out this year but I’ll be back; I’m not giving up on this!

Cheers

Andrew

Tough luck Andy – unless everything comes together on the day, this is one hell of an unforgiving challenge. Best of luck next year.

    Stubborn sod!

As I’ve said before, I wouldn’t bet against him.

But, as all teachers are meant to be teachers of English, Andy Kitts’ post is grammatically incorrect. It should read in the 3rd person plural of the verb : ‘they got lost’ rather than the 1st person plural, ” We got lost” and thank God he didn’t write “I got lost’. It’s a blame culture and not his fault at all.

I did have some trouble with the punctuation and spelling. Alas, A levels results out tomorrow and I blame the parents.

    Precisely!

Also, what about ” I dropped at at Dunmail” Surely that shoud read ” they dropped at at
    Dunmail” ?

    Onwards and upwards Andy……..
