a) Think Dick should have the 25 points for the club championships as how on earth he did that time after racing the 22 miles Hebden on Saturday only 24 hours before I don’t know. He’s on his way back with a vengeance !! Poor Karen…….looks like he has racing fever again.
b) Thank you to our Dubai correspondent for putting the results on. Glad that you managed to get there in time for Days 4 & 5 of the Test Match against Pakistan last week. Shame it was over by Day 3. Good luck with the Dubai Marathon on Friday.

Great turn out by the club…..fantastic for a local race and the first club championship race.
Well done everyone….looked like a few close battles between some of the guys, good way to encourage and push each other on to better times.
Good to see Dave Shaw and Damien Scholes back running….well done lads.

I am coming back from illness and had done 16 miles training over the Calder valley way the day before (my longest run since last May. In the race I struggled (unlike Dick the B*stard). I had PH in my sights most of the way round but could not catch him, finally caught him coming back on the track leading to the beck, he ran ahead and made a gap up the climb from the beck, I caught him on the final climb just before the cricket hut and went passed him but a touch to early as he responded with a sprint, if i had left it till just before the bump leading to the finishing tape – who knows. However given my lack of fitness and how tired I was and the fact i still nearly beat him he really should retire.

With 34 runners we could easily be the largest club. Know Tod had it has one of their club champ races & 29 turned out. Only Wharfedale likely to be anywhere near, we should be best represented in such a local race, shame the fast lads dont turnout to show the vest up front.

Willy says:
Don’t worry Charlie, we leave the pie and pea races to Tod & Wharfedale and believe me, they are nowhere to be seen in the county standard races!
Speaking of fast lads, great to see Dave Shaw back.
