Read the exploits of the ride – click on the link on the right
Dates: 24th Aug-16th Sept 2012
The route:
This starts on the French -Belgian border and runs along the English channel coast via Cherbourg and continues onto the City of Brest, from there we continue down the Atlantic coast via La Rochelle and then Bordeaux and onto Biarritz and the Spanish border.
The challenge:
Basically the same format as the Tour de France, ie 19 stages, 2 rest days over 21 days, will cover around 70-75 miles per stage with the total distance being approx 1,400 miles.
The Charity:
The challenge is to raise £10.000 for Parkinson’s UK. This is primarily to aid the research into the disease and to help raise the profile of the charity. You can donate directly into my justgiving website @ www.justgiving.com/richardsride2012 (see link below) or complete a fundraising form giving your name and address with post code so it can attract gift aid.

Good stuff and a good read. But I’m disturbed by the photo of Pete F with a glass of Stella. Has the man no shame?
There’s plenty of proper grog around France these days. And cider when you get to Normandy and Brittany. Let’s see a photo of you all restoring some credibility.
