Thank you to everyone who came along to support the KCAC Athletes at the first major cross country championships of 2017. The KCAC Junior Team produced some amazing results reflecting the hard work and dedication they have all put in over the winter training season.
On an unseasonally warm and dry day at Lightwater Valley, the best of the junior Yorkshire athletes competed on a demanding course. As most of you are aware, Yorkshire seems to produce the best cross country runners in the country, but it was a real pleasure to see how well our juniors ran.
The u13 girls led the way with a silver medal in the team competition with some outstanding personal performances from all the girls. They were quickly followed by the u13 boys who secured a bronze medal in the team competition and again produced some competitive performances.
Not to be outdone the u15 boys followed this up with another bronze in the team competition in an incredibly fast and furious race!
The individual performances of the older boys and girls were first class and they all came away with fabulous times and positions.
Special congratulations to Lilli Carr, Harvey Lewis, Louis Hudson and Joe Hudson who all got Top 8 finishes which should earn them qualification for the Yorkshire team.
The final results are attached so please do take some time to have a look at these and enjoy the KCAC success.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Northerns!
Regards
KCAC Junior Coaching Team
