Keighley BIGK 10K

Dear All

Mother’s Day Sunday March 15th marks the now traditional BigK 10K event in Keighley.

With record fields now taking part (including many K&CAC runners) the organisation and marshalling needs to be tip-top as ever and so this is the annual request for club members and friends who are not actually running to help out with the marshalling efforts around the final part of the course.

The event of course raises thousands of pounds for Sue Ryder Care at Manorlands – there is also an annual contribution to K&CAC for its support and input and it has of course inspired people to get running, many of whom have joined the club.

Can anyone who is prepared to help please contact John Dennis at sportjohn@blueyonder.co.uk or Andrew Wood at Sue Ryder Care Manorlands at Andrew.Wood@suerydercare.org asap and many thanks as ever in advance for everyone’s support.

K&CAC hosted West Yorkshire XC

West Yorkshire XC – Race 3 – Cliffe Castle – Saturday 22nd November 2014

A huge thank you to all of you who helped to make this event such a memorable occasion and to think 3 weeks ago this nearly didn’t go ahead as we didn’t have a venue or a race route.

However, since then many people have pulled together to make this happen, in a fantastic team effort that epitomises the spirit of K&CAC.

The marshalling and organisation on the day was wonderfully enthusiastic and professional whilst the feedback we received was very positive with everyone having truly enjoyed the event.

The West Yorkshire XC officials were also very pleased with how the day went and this puts us in with a great chance of hosting this prestigious event again next year and further putting K&CAC on the athletics map.

To top it off there were some amazing racing performances out there with all the K&CAC Juniors excelling yet again including 1st Team for U11B, U11G, U13G (full details on the Juniors website) coupled with some excellent senior performances also.

Well done to everyone who got involved yesterday, your efforts were very much appreciated and you have contributed to further enhancing the growing reputation of our rapidly progressing club.

Scott
